Description

This WAMS exclusive allows for a factory correct retrofit of a BRAND NEW (full warranty) fully programmed 12.3″ Full LCD Instrument cluster found in the 2022.5+ up-level version of your Pickup into your 2022.5+ 1500 Silverado or Sierra as well as 2024+ 2500/3500 Silverado or Sierra.  Please make sure you read the ENTIRE Description / FAQ prior to ordering.

This product is 100% custom to your vehicle and options and can be tweaked for mods such as added HUD hardware retrofit etc.

We setup all clusters for Navigation regardless as it will allow you to turn off the speed limit menus and simply enable them if you retrofit navigation. We’ve found this to be the simplest method to make everyone happy and negate the need to send the unit back for additional programming should a navigation upgrade become available down the line.

After installation you will also need to have a quick and simple (less than 5 minutes total time once setup and connected in vehicle) final setup procedure done by a GM dealership or shop with access to GM Techline Connect. We provide instructions in the box on how to accomplish this and it’s a very simple to the point procedure but necessary due to the enhanced security on these vehicles (and modules).

This upgrade is for IOR equipped trucks. The IOR radio does not have the ability to drive the Navigation, Media or Phone menus those will not be present.

FAQ:

Q: How does this work?
A: You place an order for a cluster using the menus above based on your trim preference. Most people will get the normal Chevrolet/GMC offering with the silver bezel. If you have a Sierra and want the light up GMC logo on the bezel you may opt for the “Denali” Style selection which also has a glossy piano black bezel. Upon delivery you will need to install the unit and then go directly to a GM Dealer (or other shop with Techline Connect access) run a quick final setup procedure; instructions will accompany the unit.

Q: How do I determine if I have a Refresh truck?
A: This product is specifically for the 2022.5+ T1 Refresh Trucks. If you have a 2022.5 1500 you can verify if you have the refresh by simply checking your RPO’s for “J22” or if the last 8 of your vin starts with “NG5” or “NZ5” or higher for example “NG6” or “NZ6” etc. you have a refresh truck. There are some lower trim level 2022.5 Trucks that appear to have the previous generation interior/electronics this is not the case as everything electrical subsystem wise has been refreshed. This is the intended target for this product. This also will work on 2023+ 1500 or 2024+ 2500/3500 trucks.

Q: Do I need steering wheel controls to use this cluster?
A: Yes you need factory (or properly retrofit) steering wheel controls to interact with the menus on these units. Adding this cluster along with the proper steering wheel controls and harness from HarnessDR.com found HERE adds full audio steering wheel controls as well as cluster controls to boot for IOR equipped trucks! Please make sure you have a dealer confirm your steering wheel selection using the parts catalog.

Q: Do I need to change any trim for this cluster to fit?
A: No you do not. There may be SLIGHT gaps at the side/top corners between the cluster bezel and the Cluster Hood that goes around it however once installed without the ability of light to go through them they should not be very visible.  You can also trim the cluster hood stops to bring it in even closer if you wish. The cluster hood is a relatively cheap part ($20 or so) so consider grabbing a spare and modifying that one. This was the best solution/compromise we could come up with and still keep the pricing in line with our other offerings even though the labor on our end is significantly higher.

Q: Can you do this for Export (Metric clusters)?
A: Yes. Being Digital that is all programming.

Q: Ok can you make the 12.3″ all digital unit work in the 2019-2022.1 1500’s or 2020-2023 2500/3500 trucks?
A: No. Those utilize an entirely different electrical architecture. Please dont email asking this the answer isn’t going to change.

Q: Will this work for my SUV?
A: No, this is for Pickups only there is a different offering in the shop for applicable SUV’s.

Q: Will I lose any features?
A: No you should not lose any features that you had before however due to changes in operation certain functions may operate differently and we’ve tried to detail any of those here in these FAQ’s.

Q: Will I gain any features?
A: You may gain some features as the 12.3″ clusters have slightly different menus. If you have added FACTORY options that your truck didn’t have please put what you have added in the notes section.

Q: What is the HUD Retrofit Option?
A: This enables the unit to drive a heads up display. Yes it can be installed no we do not provide support for that end of it but you should reach out to HarnessDr.com for wiring harness info to make that switch. If you have forward collision alert and are not 110% set on doing the HUD upgrade we recommend you do NOT choose this option as it will disable the LED Forward Collision Alert indicator. The HUD Retrofit option will be available shortly after launch. We would like to get the “vanilla” orders out of the way first so if you want HUD retrofit support please wait until that option is showing under this item.

Q. Why don’t you ask for my Mileage? What happens to my odometer?
A. Your odometer will sync to your vehicle during setup at the correct current milage.

Q: What about my engine hours?
A: These will be carried over during setup as well.

Q: My MPG/Range at install is WAY off is that normal?
A: Completely Normal! The new cluster has no baseline yet. You should start to see it normalize (or be close to completely normal) after one full tank of fuel has been consumed and the vehicle filled up. The remote app may take longer to normalize as it uses a “lifetime” MPG reading.

Q: Do I need to send in my factory cluster?
A. Nope! We are sending you a factory fresh unit.

    Was waiting patiently for WAMS to come out with a cluster upgrade for the refresh trucks, and it has paid off. This cluster is amazing in my regular cab W/T trim level .Even better than expected. Installation was easy.The dealer wanted to charge $200 for the setup, which is not terrible, but I did the setup myself instead with the GM MDI 2 tool through Techline Connect, and some tech support from the WAMS crew, (whom will walk you through any snag you come across,with an immediate response to your questions) this setup was smooth and painless.Many thanks to the WAMS Gang and their 1st class expertise.highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
