Description
Upgrade your 2017 through 2023 GMC Acadia with the WAMS Denali 8″ Digital Cluster Upgrade Kit, engineered to replace your factory base instrument cluster with the genuine Denali 8″ color reconfigurable Driver Information Center — the same uplevel display fitted from the factory to the Acadia Denali. It boots with the Denali startup graphics and retains steering wheel control support and original menu functionality (see the radio note below for the 2017–2019 IOB base-radio audio-control exception). Every unit arrives preprogrammed to your VIN, tailored to your model, engine, and options, and ready for plug-and-play installation. Whether your Acadia is equipped with navigation, park assist, or other factory options, we configure the cluster to match your build. Each unit is brand-new, backed by full GM warranty, and engineered for seamless OEM-grade operation.
This kit fits 2017–2023 GMC Acadia models that left the factory with the base instrument cluster — typically the SL, SLE, SLT, and All Terrain/AT4 trims. The Acadia was built with up to three engines across this range: the 2.5L I4 (LCV), the 2.0L I4 turbocharged (LSY, 2020 and later), and the 3.6L V6 (LGX). Because the cluster is configured to your engine, please select both your model year and engine when ordering; I4 or V6.
This is the wrong cluster if your Acadia already has the 8″ color reconfigurable display. That uplevel cluster came standard on the Denali — those vehicles already have this unit and do not need the kit. If you are unsure, check your trim or send us your VIN before ordering and we will confirm fitment for you.
IMPORTANT — order by your exact model year: The 2017–2019 and 2020–2023 Acadia use different infotainment architectures, and their clusters are NOT interchangeable. A 2017–2019 cluster will not function in a 2020–2023 Acadia, and a 2020–2023 cluster will not function in a 2017–2019 Acadia. Select the cluster that matches your exact model year.
Radio compatibility note: The Music, Navigation (if equipped), and Phone cluster display menus are driven by your factory navigation-equipped radio; a base radio without navigation cannot drive those particular menus. On 2020–2023 Acadias that is the IOU radio (versus the base IOR). On 2017–2019 Acadias, the only exception is the IOB base radio: with IOB the steering wheel audio controls (volume, track, etc.) will not function, because those controls run over the MOST data bus the Denali cluster uses and the IOB isn’t a MOST radio (the IO5 and IO6 radios are MOST-equipped and unaffected). The steering wheel cluster-interaction controls still work on all radios, and apart from the IOB audio note, all other standard cluster functions operate normally.
PLEASE NOTE: These units are special order and subject to varying lead time beyond our control. Please make sure you triple check your selected cluster before checking out as the system automatically places an order with the manufacturer.
FAQ:
Q: How does this work?
A: Choose your model year and engine from the drop down. The model year and engine must match your vehicle. Once the new pre-programmed unit arrives, simply install it and go!
Q: How do I know if this is the right cluster for my Acadia?
A: This kit is for 2017–2023 GMC Acadias that currently have the base instrument cluster — typically the SL, SLE, SLT, and All Terrain/AT4 trims. If your Acadia already has the 8″ color reconfigurable display (the Denali), it already has this unit and does not need the kit — ordering it would be the wrong cluster for your vehicle. When in doubt, send us your VIN before ordering and we will confirm fitment.
Q: Are the clusters the same for all model years?
A: No — and this matters. The 2017–2019 Acadia and the 2020–2023 Acadia (after the mid-cycle refresh) use different infotainment architectures, and the clusters are NOT interchangeable between those two groups. A 2017–2019 unit will not work in a 2020–2023 vehicle, and a 2020–2023 unit will not work in a 2017–2019 vehicle. This is why you must select the cluster for your exact model year. If you’re unsure, send us your VIN and we’ll confirm the correct unit.
Q: Do I need to match my engine?
A: Yes. The Acadia was built with up to three engines across 2017–2023 — the 2.5L (RPO LCV), the 2.0L turbo (RPO LSY, on 2020 and later), and the 3.6L V6 (RPO LGX) — and the cluster is configured to match. Please select the engine that matches your Acadia either an I4 (4 Cylinder) or a V6 (6 Cylinder).
Q: Will it show the Denali graphics?
A: Yes. This is the genuine GMC Denali instrument cluster, so it boots with the Denali startup graphics and gives your Acadia the full uplevel Denali instrument display — the same unit fitted to the Denali from the factory.
Q: I have a 2017–2019 Acadia with the base radio — will my steering wheel controls work?
A: It depends which control. On 2017–2019 Acadias with the IOB base radio, the steering wheel audio controls (volume, track, and so on) will not function — those audio controls run over the MOST data bus that the Denali cluster uses, and the IOB isn’t a MOST radio. The steering wheel cluster-interaction controls (for navigating the driver information display) still work normally. If your 2017–2019 Acadia has the IO5 or IO6 radio, the audio controls work normally too — the IOB is the only 2017–2019 radio affected, and 2020–2023 cars are not affected at all. If you’re unsure which radio you have, send us your VIN and we’ll confirm.
Q: I have upgraded, or plan to upgrade, to factory navigation eventually — will this cluster show the speed limit?
A: Yes it will. We set all of these up for navigation regardless, so the unit doesn’t need to be sent back when you finally perform the upgrade.
Q: How do you know what options my Acadia has so the cluster can be properly configured?
A: From your VIN! If you have added any factory options you think the cluster should display or interact with, just put them in the order notes.
Q: My Acadia was built without auto stop/start — will the cluster still match?
A: Yes. Some Acadias left the factory without the Automatic Stop/Start system (RPO NSS). On those vehicles the stop/start disable button isn’t present and the cluster does not display the stop/start function. If you have one of these, please select the ‘NO AUTO STOP’ variant shown for your year. If you know your vehicle is an NSS build, feel free to note it in the order as well.
Q: Can you do this for Export (metric clusters)?
A: Absolutely, and we can supply them in the same manner as US-spec units. Generally the only real differences are the icons on the fuel gauge and the temperature scale. If you’re OK with the US version, simply order that and we’ll set up the center display with the speedometer in metric.
Q: Does it HAVE to be the same model year of cluster as my Acadia?
A: Yes. Beyond the 2017–2019 / 2020–2023 architecture split, if you wish to have 100% OEM functionality AND retain your factory or factory-backed extended warranty, you MUST choose the same model year cluster as your Acadia, as directed.
Q: Will I lose any features?
A: You should not lose any features you had before, although some features may now be combined as part of different menus or displays. Please note: the Music, Navigation (if equipped), and Phone cluster display menus are driven by your factory navigation-equipped radio; a base radio without navigation cannot drive those menus. On 2020–2023 Acadias that is the IOU radio (versus the base IOR). Steering wheel cluster-interaction controls and all other standard cluster functions still operate normally — with one exception: on 2017–2019 Acadias with the IOB base radio, the steering wheel audio controls won’t function (they run over the MOST data bus the IOB radio doesn’t have; the IO5 and IO6 radios are unaffected).
Q: How do I know which radio I have?
A: Knowing which radio you have isn’t required to order, but it tells you what to expect. Scan the QR code on your build label (driver’s door jamb) for your radio’s RPO code. On 2020–2023 Acadias it’s IOR (base, no navigation) or IOU (with navigation), and both work normally with the steering wheel audio controls. On 2017–2019 Acadias it’s IOB (base), IO5 (8″ without navigation), or IO6 (8″ with navigation); the IO5 and IO6 are fine, but the IOB base radio is the one exception — with IOB the steering wheel audio controls won’t function, because it isn’t a MOST radio. The Music, Navigation, and Phone cluster display menus require a navigation-equipped radio (IO6 on 2017–2019, IOU on 2020–2023); a base radio without navigation can’t drive them. The in-cluster Speed Limit display requires factory navigation.
Q: Will I gain any features?
A: You may gain some features, as the uplevel clusters have slightly different menu selections. We can also enable things you have added, such as indicators for front park assist, or the navigation menu if you have added factory navigation. If you have added FACTORY options that your Acadia didn’t have when it was produced, please list them in the order notes section at checkout.
Q: Can you delete warning indicators for items I may have removed from the vehicle?
A: Yes we can. This would all be custom and priced as such — contact us for details.
Q: What is the Pocket Gauges and Transmission Temp option?
A: This option adds the ability to customize the pocket gauges located on the left and right side of the screen that are normally not configurable, as well as adding a transmission temperature gauge.
Q: Do you need my current mileage?
A: Nope! On these vehicles the odometer is stored in the vehicle (in the BCM), not in the cluster, so the new unit syncs to your actual mileage when you install it. Your correct mileage will be there — there’s nothing for you to send us.
Q: Do I need to send in my factory cluster?
A: Nope! We are sending you a factory-fresh unit.
Q: Will the cluster look exactly like what’s shown in the product picture?
A: The cluster will look correct for your model year and engine. Exact graphics and menus vary based on model year and the options you choose, but it will be configured properly for your specific vehicle.
