This kit includes a BRAND NEW OEM cluster (not used scratched up salvage junk) with FULL GM warranty pre-programmed for a plug and play installation! This cluster is 100% custom to your vehicles options and can be tweaked/adjusted for mods such as added OEM navigation, added front park assist, HUD hardware retrofit as well as parts removed such as magnetic ride, suppression of warning messages and lights etc. This kit when done in the recommended manner (new cluster/matching vehicle year/content) is 100% warranty compliant. Please make sure you read the entire FAQ section prior to ordering!
PLEASE NOTE: These units are special order and subject to varying lead time beyond our control. Please make sure you triple check your selected cluster before checking out as the system automatically places an order with the manufacturer. Some variants of this product are currently on backorder at the manufacturer level due to the Global Chip Crisis, these include ANY Variant not specifically listed at the top of the page. If you order while they are on backorder you will miss the large price increase coming when these are fully restocked for the inconvenience but your order is binding and cannot be canceled as we are pre-building software for these to get them out the door when they arrive. We are not able to provide any ETA’s on these as the manufacturer does not provide them however if you order one rest assured you will get it.
FAQ:
Q: How does this work?
A: First figure out your application (E.G. Gas US Spec and model year) and using the options above select that unit. If you wish to have 100% OEM functionality you MUST use the same model year and engine type cluster as your truck; the ONLY exception to this is if you have had us do the proper CarPlay/Android Auto retrofit programming using modules on our supported list or purchased our CarPlay / Android Auto Upgrade Kit. Then and only then you must use a 2016 Red or Blue GAS part number; please note there is NO part number for a 2016 Blue DIESEL BUT we have developed a way to retrofit a 2017 Diesel Blue Cluster for proper operation in conjunction with the Car Play/Android Auto upgrade or a factory 2016 Diesel. Upon receipt of your new unit simply disconnect the battery plug the unit in reconnect the battery and you’ll be golden; yes it’s really that simple.
Q: But I saw this one place that said the year doesn’t matter?
A: Have you ever seen any reviews on that place? Exactly.
Q: How do you know what options my truck has so the cluster can be properly configured?
A: From your VIN! If you have added any factory options you think the cluster should display or interact with just put them in the order notes.
Q: I have a 2015 truck how do I tell if I have a 2015 or a 2015.5
A: If you have RPO (on your build sticker likely in your glove box) AVF OR VV4 you need to order the 2015.5. Please note you are solely responsible for this choice.
Q: I see the 2014, 2015/2015.5’s and some 2016’s are marked “DISCONTINUED” what does this mean and what can I do?
A: Sadly as is common with older vehicles production of those particular units has ceased and all new stock has been exhausted. That being said what we recommend you do is complete our Android Auto / CarPlay upgrade then utilize the other clusters available after that upgrade is completed e.g. (2016 Gas and 2016/2017 Diesel units as outlined in this document). If you absolutely must have a 2014-2016 Red unit we recommend going the used route via our Denali Cluster Programming service on the site and sourcing your own used unit. **If you choose for whatever unknown reason to still place an order for one of the units that are CLEARLY MARKED DISCONTINUED it will be filled (regardless of make) with a 2016 Blue unit so please keep this in mind!**
Q: Can you do this for Export (Metric clusters)?
A: Yes we can and we can supply them as well via the drop down.
Q: Will this work for my 2014 GMT900 Truck or SUV?
A: No. This is for the K2 platform vehicles only.
Q: Does it HAVE to be the same model year of cluster as my truck?
A: If you wish to have 100% OEM functionality you MUST use the same model year and engine type cluster as your truck; the ONLY exception to this is if you have had us do the proper Car Play/Android Auto retrofit programming using modules on our supported list. Please contact us prior to ordering if you have a mismatch situation so we can confirm which cluster you are looking at and your build to see what you may run into.
Q: I want to do the 2016 cluster retrofit into a 2014-2015.5 so that I can get a Blue/Green Cluster in my Silverado and get the steering wheel controls back inside Car Play/Android Auto; what do I do?
A: Contact us and let us know which HMI and Radio you used for your CarPlay / Android Auto Upgrade and we can go from there. If you did a Car Play retrofit through us using the best practices hardware list we provide or with one of our kits you can utilize any of the 2016 selections that match your application/coloring. If you have a Diesel please utilize the 2017 Blue Diesel selections.
Q: I have a 2014-2015.5 Silverado and I want a Blue cluster what can I do?
A: You will need to follow the instructions above regarding a CarPlay / Android Auto retrofit and utilizing the 2016 gas selection or 2017 diesel selection.
Q: I have a 2016 Silverado but all I have seen are red clusters what do I do?
A: There are 2016 Blue Gas US spec and Export selections above. If you have a Diesel please utilize the 2017 Blue Diesel selection.
Q: Speaking of colors what do the color notations such as “Red” and “Blue” meaning regards to the clusters?
A: This refers to the color of the backlighting on the unit. The “Red” units are for the early Sierra/Yukon applications that utilized red interior lighting. The “Blue” units are for applications that utilized blue/greenish interior lighting such as all Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban and 2017+ Sierra/Yukon.
Q: I did a Car Play/Android Auto retrofit and don’t have some steering wheel controls inside of Car Play/Android Auto; can you help me?
A: Yes but there is a specific list of compatible components and we need to do the programming on the other modules to make sure everything is 100% perfect. If you plan on doing the CP/AA upgrade at any point it’s best to try to do it all at the same time to save yourself a potential headache. If you are having us do the conversion please utilize the 2016 Red or Blue GAS clusters or the 2017 Diesel unit as outlined above.
Q: I have a 2015 2500/3500 with a Car Play Retrofit and a 2016 Red or 2017 Blue cluster but I see “Hill Assist” activating; whats that about?
A:The early 2015’s HD trucks with the original EBCM/CCM calibration have some of the data on the bus for the 2015.5+ Hill Start Assist. This message will not hurt anything as no action is taking place however a EBCM/CCM update to the latest OS will remedy that message.
Q: I have an IO3/IOB Radio will this cluster work in my application?
A: Yes it will work however you will not see any audio or phone information etc. Most people get this upgrade to use when replacing the IO3/IOB radio with an aftermarket radio. You will also need steering wheel controls to interact with the various cluster menus however the audio portion of the controls will not function.
Q: Will I lose any features?
A: No you should not lose any features that you had before.
Q: Will I gain any features?
A: You may gain some features as the Denali clusters have slightly different menus. We can also enable things you have added such as indicators for front park assist or the Navigation menu if you have added factory navigation. If you have added FACTORY options that your truck didn’t have please put what you have added in the notes section.
Q: I have a 2014-2015 with a car play retrofit and a 2016 Gas or 2017 Diesel Cluster and now have the 2015.5+ Offroad menu but it doesn’t work other than showing 4WD status?
A:That’s completely normal as the data isn’t on the bus in those model years for the unit to read; hence why your factory cluster never had it. Originally, we took it out but got a lot of feedback that people wanted it to look at 4WD status so we put it back in, if it bothers you simply disable the menu from the rotation list.
Q: Can you delete warning indicators for items I may have removed from the Vehicle??
A: Yes we can, this would all be custom and priced as such, contact us for details.
Q: What is the HUD Retrofit Option?
A: This enables the software to drive a heads up display attached to the cluster (if equipped with hud output). Yes it can be installed no we do not provide support for that end of it but there is a fantastic write up on gm-trucks.com as well as harness from Pgamboa (Phil Gamboa) Please make sure you are choosing a cluster that has a HUD output (Some Diesel Units do not have HUD outputs) if you think you are going to do this mod. If you have forward collision alert and are not 110% set on doing the HUD upgrade we recommend you do NOT choose this option as it will disable the LED Forward Collision Alert indicator.
Q. Why don’t you ask for my Mileage? What happens to my odometer?
A. Your odometer will sync to your vehicle at install at the correct current milage this is plug and play with no user intervention required.
Q: What about my engine hours?
A: The Denali cluster shows total running hours as well as idle hours. The base clusters only display total running hours. We reset both fields to zero as part of this service however if you truly want the hours programmed in you will need to have BOTH the total hours AND idle hours read out with GDS 2 at a dealership. You must put the hours in the customer note portion during the checkout process and then immediately reply to your order confirmation email with the report attached.
Q: My fuel economy and range are way off after install?
A: Thats normal the cluster computes consumption and has no baseline to work from yet. The more you drive it the more accurate it will get and if possible run it down as low as possible before filling it up. It may take several full fill ups to normalize.
Q: Do I need to send in my factory cluster?
A. No, we only need you to send the Denali cluster you are sourcing (if you are choosing to supply it)
Q: Where is the transmission temp gauge now?
A: It’s automatically displayed when in tow haul mode. This is the only location of this gauge now there is no provision for it to be its own standalone menu like the base cluster.
Q: Why is my Silverado showing an SUV icon for some things/menus?
A: This allows you to utilize the Chevrolet branding and startup screen whereas to keep the pickup truck icon it would have been GMC/Denali themed. We have yet to have a Chevrolet customer who DIDN’T want the Chevrolet startup so this is how we set them up.

Wow, what a difference, went from a base unit instrument cluster to the Denali cluster. So easy to install, took longer to find a 7mm socket than complete the installation. Because I have a base model, I needed to replace my steering wheel and add an additional wire to make everything work correctly.

I purchase the denali upgrade instrument cluster for my 2015 LT Silverado truck that didn’t have radio controls or instrument controls on the steering wheel and I also had an after market Jensen navigation stereo I wanted to be able to control everything through the steering wheel so I purchased a new Chevrolet steering wheel with radio and instrument control buttons on it I told the tech support at WAMS what I wanted and it was programmed for what I wanted I also purchased a harness for the cluster to tie into the steering wheel which is just one wire super easy from harness DR. And a PAC interface module for the STEREO now everything works just like I wanted I can control the radio volume up and down radio stations up and down and seek and navigation so I would like to thank the people at WAMS for giving me what I wanted and making it all work great so don’t listen to the dealership that will tell you that it can’t be done that it has to come from factory that way they are wrong I did it and everything works just like factory thank you very much WAMS

I installed my Denali Cluster, reconnected the battery and got an error message, “Service Transmission” despite nothing wrong with my transmission. Emailed customer service after hours to trouble shoot the problem. They responded instantly. Confirmed it was something they would have to fix in shop. The the next day I was emailed a shipping label to return the cluster. I dropped it off at UPS on a Friday morning. They had the guage cluster fixed and returned to me Wednesday (5 days including the weekend!) That’s crazy customer service. Now I’m located in the same State as the business and that may have helped with quick transport times but their customer service is top notch. Can’t ask for better communication. A+ for overall experience.
