This is a replacement GM Bose radio speaker amplifier for the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, programmed to your VIN by WAMS before it ships, so it is plug and play.
That programming is what you are paying for. GM requires this amplifier to be programmed and set up with GM service software before it will work. The same GM part number bought from a parts counter or another online seller arrives unprogrammed, and it does nothing until someone with a GM subscription and an approved interface sets it up. Ours arrives already configured for your vehicle, which is why we ask for your VIN at checkout.
About the photos: the amplifier pictured is the one used in older-style trucks and SUVs, meaning 2014 to 2019 pickups and 2015 to 2020 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL. If you have a redesigned 2019 to 2022 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500, or a 2020 to 2023 HD pickup, your amplifier looks different from the photo. That is expected. It does the same job, and we send the correct amplifier for your VIN.
Vehicles this GM Bose amplifier fits
The year ranges are different for each vehicle, so please check yours carefully:
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500: 2014 to 2022.1
- Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD: 2015 to 2023
- Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL: 2015 to 2020
2019 and 2022 pickups: GM sold two different 1500 trucks in 2019. The older-style Silverado 1500 LD and Sierra 1500 Limited were sold alongside the redesigned truck, and each takes a different amplifier. In 2022, GM refreshed the 1500 partway through the year, and the refreshed trucks use newer electronics and an amplifier we do not currently sell. You do not need to work out which truck you have. We read it from your VIN and select the right amplifier, or tell you if yours is not covered.
Not covered: Colorado, Canyon, Equinox, Terrain, the refreshed 2022.5 and later Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, 2024 and later HD pickups, and 2021 and later Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL. These use a different amplifier.
Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV owners: the Escalade is not covered by this listing. Every 2015 to 2020 Escalade uses the Bose Centerpoint Audiophile system (RPO UQH), and GM has discontinued its amplifier, part number 84832889, with no replacement part number. We will not fit a lower-tier amplifier in its place, because the UQH system drives more speakers and a lesser amplifier will not run it properly. Which amplifier does your vehicle need?
For most vehicles, entering your VIN is the whole process. There is nothing to choose for every Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL, every Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L engine, the redesigned 2019 to 2022 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, and 2020 to 2023 HD pickups. An older-style pickup without the 6.2L is asked one thing: its front seat type.
Because the VIN does the work, your SPID label is your check before ordering. The SPID label (Service Parts Identification) is the sticker in the glove box that lists your vehicle’s option codes. On 2018 and later models you can also scan the QR code on the driver’s door B-pillar. Read the SPID label rather than going by trim level or memory.
- It must show UQA, or UQS on a Yukon or Yukon XL Denali.
- Some of these trucks and SUVs left the factory with base audio and no separate amplifier at all. If your label shows UQ3, UQ5 or UQF, this part is not for your vehicle.
- If it shows UQG, a non-Bose amplifier, we do not currently stock that version, so please contact us.
- On an older-style 1500 pickup, a 6.2L ordered with the 40/20/40 bench got the non-Bose amplifier (UQG) rather than Bose. If that is your truck, check the label for UQA before ordering.

2014 to 2019 older-style pickups and 2015 to 2020 SUVs: GM built four versions of the amplifier for these, and the wrong one will still physically install. Your VIN does nearly all of the choosing. Active Noise Cancellation (RPO NKC) came only with the 6.2L engine and Bose, so the VIN tells us whether your vehicle has it. That matters, because an amplifier without noise cancellation will not work correctly in a vehicle built with it. The amplifier is chosen from:
- Audio system. Look for a code beginning with UQ. UQA is the standard Bose system and the most common. UQS is Bose Centerpoint Surround, standard on the Yukon and Yukon XL Denali only. It was not available on the Tahoe, Suburban or a Yukon that is not a Denali.
- Front seat. AN3 or A95 means bucket seats. AE7, AZ3 or B3F means the 40/20/40 split bench. A bench with a fold-down center console still counts as a bench.
The front seat is the only question you may be asked, and only on an older-style pickup without the 6.2L.
Before you order
The usual sign of a failed GM Bose amplifier is a complete loss of sound while the radio screen keeps working. The radio module (ACM) can fail in a similar way, so please have the fault diagnosed by a GM dealer before you order, as these are not returnable.
On the pickups the amplifier is mounted behind the rear seat. On the Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon it is mounted in the rear of the vehicle.
There is no core charge on this GM Bose amplifier and no core return required.

Q: Does the amplifier come programmed?
A: Yes. We program it to your VIN before it ships. That is why the VIN is required at checkout.
Q: Can I buy the same part number somewhere else and install it myself?
A: You could, but it will arrive unprogrammed. GM requires programming and setup with GM service software before the amplifier will work, which takes a GM subscription and an approved interface. Ours arrives already done, which saves you money.
Q: How do I know my amplifier has failed?

A: The photo shows the amplifier for older-style trucks and SUVs. Redesigned 2019 to 2022 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks and 2020 to 2023 HD pickups use an amplifier that looks different. We send the correct one for your VIN.
Q: Where is the SPID label?
A: In the glove box. It lists your vehicle’s option (RPO) codes. On 2018 and later models you can also scan the QR code on the driver’s door B-pillar.
Q: I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500. Which truck do I have?

Q: I have a 2022 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500. Is it covered?
A: Only if it was built before GM’s mid-year refresh. The refreshed 2022 trucks use newer electronics and a different amplifier that we do not currently sell. We check this from your VIN.
Q: My label shows UQG. Is there a version for me?
A: UQG is a non-Bose amplifier and we do not currently stock it. Contact us with your VIN.
Q: My label shows UQ3, UQ5 or UQF. Do I need this?
A: No. Those codes mean base audio with no separate amplifier, so this part does not apply to your vehicle.
Q: Do you have one for the Cadillac Escalade?
A: No. The Escalade’s Bose Centerpoint Audiophile system (UQH) uses amplifier 84832889, which GM has discontinued with no replacement, and we will not substitute a lower-tier amplifier because UQH drives more speakers. Contact us with your VIN and we will tell you what options exist.
Q: My old amplifier is 84832889 or 84832891. Can you replace it?
A: Not through this listing. GM has discontinued both with no replacement part number. 84832889 is the Escalade’s Bose Centerpoint Audiophile (UQH) amplifier. If your old amplifier is 84832891, contact us with your VIN and we will identify what your vehicle actually takes.
Q: Do you have one for a 2021 or later Tahoe, Suburban or Yukon?
