Description
Have you converted your 2022.5+ Refresh Silverado or Sierra to trailering mirrors, converted from trailering mirrors back to standard mirrors equipped with cameras, or upgraded from 270-degree to 360-degree Surround Vision?
Any change to mirror type or camera configuration alters how the Video Processing Module (VPM) processes, crops, and stitches camera images. Without proper Global-B VPM programming, the system may function but display clipped, misaligned, or improperly scaled camera views.
White Automotive & Media Services (WAMS) provides custom Global-B VPM programming to correctly reconfigure camera geometry so your truck behaves exactly like a factory-equipped vehicle. This service is only for vehicles that already have a VPM.
Service Paths
Option 1: Reprogram the VPM From Your Vehicle
Choose this option if you converted from standard mirrors to trailering mirrors, converted from trailering mirrors back to standard mirrors with cameras, are correcting camera framing or view clipping, and are not adding additional camera inputs.
You will ship the VPM currently installed in your vehicle. When reinstalled, this option is fully plug and play and does not require a dealer visit.
Option 2: Programming for an Upgraded or Different VPM
Choose this option if you are adding additional camera views, upgrading from 270-degree to 360-degree Surround Vision, or moving from a 5-channel to a 10-channel VPM.
For this option, the VPM part number must be verified with a GM dealer prior to ordering. You may supply the VPM or ship it to us. A short dealership setup procedure is required after installation.
Common Symptoms This Service Corrects
Incorrect VPM configuration can cause camera views that appear cropped or clipped, surround vision images that do not align correctly, side camera views that appear zoomed, offset, or partially missing, incorrect dynamic guidelines, a persistent hourglass icon on camera screens, and trailering or surround views that behave inconsistently after mirror changes.
These issues are caused by camera geometry and image processing mismatches, not calibration alone.
Compatibility and Important Notes
This service is compatible with 2022.5–2025 Silverado and Sierra Refresh pickups using the Global-B architecture. Both 5-channel and 10-channel VPMs are supported. This is a ship-in programming service only and does not include any hardware. Vehicles must already be equipped with a VPM.
This service does not retrofit a VPM into a vehicle that did not originally have one. Retrofitting requires additional modules, wiring, cameras, and radio programming. SUV applications vary and must be discussed and approved by email prior to ordering. The Global-B Product and Service Disclosure applies to this service.
FAQ:
Q: Do I need to send anything besides the VPM?
A: No. Only the Video Processing Module from your vehicle is required.
Q: Will this service fix camera view clipping or cropped images?
A: Yes. This service corrects how the VPM processes and frames camera images after mirror or camera configuration changes.
Q: I converted from trailering mirrors back to standard mirrors with cameras. Do I need this service?
A: Yes. In this scenario the camera inputs are still present, but the VPM remains configured for trailering mirror geometry, which causes camera image clipping and incorrect views.
Q: Is this service plug and play?
A: Yes it is.
Q: Is camera calibration included with this service?
A: No. This service corrects module configuration only. Camera calibration is performed separately after installation in most cases simply by driving the vehicle.
Q: Does this service work on SUVs?
A: No. SUV VPM programming varies by model and must be discussed and approved prior to ordering.
Q: Where is the Global B disclosure?
A: You can find the Global B Disclosure here.
