Description
Ghost touches, phantom inputs, a cracked screen, dark spots or a touch screen that has stopped responding? This is a brand-new OEM GM replacement 7 inch infotainment screen, supplied as the touch screen display panel, for vehicles with GM’s 7 inch IOR infotainment system (RPO UIR): the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Camaro. It is the display panel only. No trim, no bezel, no surround and no housing.
This is the display panel ONLY
No trim. No bezel. No surround. No housing. No dash mounting bracket. You receive the display panel with its own metal back, exactly as shown in the photos, and you move it into the trim, housing and mounting bracket from your current screen.
If you have bought or looked at our 8 inch T1 screen, note that it comes as a complete assembly with the trim surround. This 7 inch display does not.
New GM parts only. Most of what you will find for these screens is a repair service or an aftermarket digitizer glued onto your old display. This is neither. It is a new GM display panel, the same part the factory installed.
It is the display only. It is not the radio, not the CSM and not the instrument cluster. Your existing radio module stays in the vehicle.
7 inch touch screen replacement: which vehicles it fits
Every vehicle below must have the 7 inch IOR system (RPO UIR). The same models with an 8 inch or 13.4 inch screen need a different infotainment display.
| Vehicle | Years |
|---|---|
| Chevrolet Silverado 1500 | 2019-2026 |
| GMC Sierra 1500 | 2019-2026 |
| Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD | 2020-2026 |
| GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD | 2020-2026 |
| Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD / 5500HD / 6500HD (medium duty) | 2024-2026 |
| Chevrolet Colorado | 2019-2022 |
| GMC Canyon | 2019-2022 |
| Chevrolet Equinox | 2019-2024 |
| GMC Terrain | 2018-2024 |
| Chevrolet Camaro (base 7 inch system only) | 2019-2024 |
Pick your vehicle and you are done. GM built this display in three versions over the years, and they do not interchange. You do not need to know which one you have. The vehicle picker chooses the right version from your model and year, so there is no part number to cross-reference.
Refresh trucks are covered. The 2022.5 and later Silverado and Sierra 1500 and the 2024 and later 2500HD and 3500HD with the 7 inch screen, including the WT, Custom and Sierra Pro with the older-style dash, take this display. The picker handles the 2022 split from your VIN.
Camaro: most Camaros have the 8 inch screen. This display only fits a Camaro with the base 7 inch system, so measure before you order.
2019 Silverado and Sierra 1500: one extra question
GM built two versions of this display during the 2019 model year, and they do not interchange. For the 2019 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 only, the picker asks you to read the part number off the label on your current display. If you cannot see it, contact us with your VIN and we will confirm the right one. Every other vehicle and year needs no extra questions.
Not covered
- Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Malibu and GMC Acadia: the 7 inch screen on these is a complete assembly, not a separate display panel. This part does not fit them.
- 8 inch screens (RPO UIJ or UIK): a different part. For 2019-2023 Silverado and Sierra trucks, see our 8 inch T1 screen.
- 13.4 inch screens on refresh trucks: not sold.
- IOB base radio: not covered.
- Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade: not covered.
- 2019 Silverado LD and 2019 Sierra 1500 Limited: these carried over the previous body and electronics and do not take this display.
Make sure you have the 7 inch IOR system
You need to pass both checks below. The App Shop check tells you the system but not the size. Measuring tells you the size but not the system.
Check 1: is there an App Shop on your home screen?
The easiest way to tell is the App Shop. Every IOS and IOT system has it. IOR does not. No App Shop means IOR, and this display may be your part. If your home screen has an App Shop icon, you have IOS or IOT, and this is not your part.
Check 2: is your screen 7 inch or 8 inch?
Measure it diagonally, as described below.
Want to double check? Scan the QR code on the driver door jamb to see your vehicle’s RPO codes. IOR plus UIR means this part. UIJ or UIK means an 8 inch screen, and IOS or IOT means a different system. These vehicles use the QR code rather than the printed glove box label. See GM RPO label vs SPID label and our GM RPO code lookup.
7 inch or 8 inch? Measure diagonally
Screens are measured corner to corner across the glass, not straight across. An 8 inch screen is only about 7 inches wide. If you lay a tape measure straight across a correct 8 inch screen, you will read “7 inches” and order the wrong part. This is the most common ordering mistake on this display.
Measure the lit display area from one corner to the opposite corner. Close to 7 inches diagonally means you have the 7 inch screen, and this listing is for you. Close to 8 inches means you have the 8 inch screen. As a rough guide, a 7 inch screen is only about 6 inches wide.
Ghost touch, dark spots, cracks and other screen symptoms
These point to the display itself, and a new display fixes them:
- Ghost touch: the screen registers touches you did not make. Stations change, menus open on their own or calls start dialing.
- Dead touch: the picture looks normal, but parts of the screen, or all of it, no longer respond when you press.
- Dark spots or patches, or areas that look dim or faded.
- Cracked or shattered glass.
Black screen, blank screen, lines or scrambled images: it may not be the display
The picture on your screen comes from the radio module behind the dash, not from the display itself. When the radio fails, the display often gets the blame. These symptoms can come from either one:
- A completely black or blank screen, or one that never comes on at all.
- Lines across the display, or scrambled, flickering or distorted images.
- A screen that freezes, reboots on its own or gets stuck on the startup logo.
If you see any of these, please have the vehicle diagnosed before you order, because these displays are non-returnable and a new display will not fix a failed radio. If the radio is the problem, see our Replacement GM IOR Radio Module. If you are not sure which part you need, contact us with your VIN and a description of the problem.
Why the number on your old display may not match
GM has superseded several of the earlier part numbers for this display. We supply the current GM part for your vehicle, so the part you receive may carry a different number from your original. It is the correct replacement.
Installation and programming
No programming and no dealer visit. Because this is the display panel only, installation means moving the new panel into your existing parts:
- Remove the screen assembly from the dash and unplug it.
- Separate the old display panel from its trim, bezel, housing and mounting bracket.
- Fit the new display panel into your existing trim, housing and mounting bracket.
- Plug it in, check that the display and touch work, then reinstall it in the dash.
Handle the panel by its edges and keep the glass clean and protected until it is installed. If you are not comfortable taking the assembly apart, have a professional installer do it.

If you are searching by the number on your old display, it may be in this list. Check every digit. The vehicle picker selects the right display for you, so rely on it rather than this list.

7 inch touch screen replacement: frequently asked questions
Does this include the trim, bezel or housing?
No. This is the display panel only, with its own metal back as shown in the photos. There is no trim, bezel, surround, housing or dash mounting bracket. You move the new panel into the trim, housing and bracket from your current screen. If you are used to our 8 inch T1 screen, which comes as a complete assembly with the trim surround, this one is different.
Which vehicles and years does this display fit?
Vehicles with the 7 inch IOR system (RPO UIR): the 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, the 2020-2026 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, the 2024-2026 Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD, the 2019-2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, the 2019-2024 Chevrolet Equinox, the 2018-2024 GMC Terrain, and the 2019-2024 Chevrolet Camaro with the base 7 inch system. Vehicles with an 8 inch or 13.4 inch screen need a different part.
How do I know whether I have the 7 inch or the 8 inch screen?
Measure the lit display diagonally, from one corner to the opposite corner. Do not measure straight across: an 8 inch screen is only about 7 inches wide, so measuring across a correct 8 inch screen reads 7 inches. Close to 7 inches diagonally means the 7 inch screen. Close to 8 inches means the 8 inch screen, which is a different part. You can also scan the QR code on the driver door jamb: UIR means 7 inch, UIJ or UIK means 8 inch.
What is IOR, and how do I tell if I have it?
IOR is the infotainment system GM fitted to these vehicles, sold as Chevrolet Infotainment 3 or the GMC Infotainment System. The easy check is the App Shop: if your home screen has no App Shop icon, you have IOR. If it has an App Shop, you have IOS or IOT, and this is not your part. You can confirm by scanning the QR code on the driver door jamb and finding IOR in the RPO list.
I have a 2019 Silverado or Sierra 1500. Why does it ask me for a part number?
GM built two versions of this display during the 2019 model year, and they do not interchange. For those two trucks only, we ask you to read the part number off the label on your current display. If you cannot see it, contact us with your VIN and we will confirm the right one.
Is this the display only, or the whole radio?
The display panel only. Your radio (IOR) module stays in the vehicle and is not included. If your screen is completely black or blank, the radio may be the failed part, so please have the vehicle diagnosed first.
The number on my current display is different from the one listed. Is this still right?
Usually, yes. GM has superseded several of the earlier numbers for this display, and we supply the current GM part for your vehicle. The vehicle picker chooses it from your vehicle and year, so you do not need to match numbers, except on a 2019 Silverado or Sierra 1500.
My Blazer, Malibu or Acadia has a 7 inch screen. Does this fit?
No. On the Blazer, Malibu and Acadia, the 7 inch screen is part of a complete assembly, with no separate display panel that can be replaced on its own. This display does not fit them.
Does my 2022 Silverado or Sierra 1500 take the same display as a 2021?
It depends on whether your truck is an early 2022 or a 2022.5 refresh model. Early 2022 trucks take the same display as a 2021. 2022.5 refresh trucks take a later version. The vehicle picker works this out from your VIN. To check yourself, look at the 12th character of your VIN: 4 or lower is an early 2022, and 5 or higher is a refresh truck.
Does it need programming or a dealer visit?
No. There is no programming and no dealer visit.
Is there a core charge?
No. There is no core charge and you do not need to send your old display back.
Is this new or refurbished?
Brand new. This is a new OEM GM display panel, not a repaired display, a refurbished unit or an aftermarket digitizer.
