Description

Your 2014-2019 Silverado or Sierra, 2015-2020 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon or Escalade, or 2019-2025 Silverado medium duty left the factory with settings GM picked for every vehicle. Custom BCM programming changes the ones you care about. Keep the cargo lamp on in Drive, run your fogs with the high beams, get longer remote start and more. Your K2’s body control module (BCM) comes to our shop, gets a calibration built from its own factory file with only your choices changed, and goes back ready to plug in. One flat price, and no device to buy.

How it works

  1. Enter your VIN first. The page checks it against K2 coverage, then shows the features for your truck or SUV.
  2. Pick your features and check out. Return shipping is figured at checkout from your address.
  3. Pull the BCM and send it in. Your order confirmation has the packing steps and our address.
  4. We read the factory file, change only what you picked, and program the module.
  5. It comes back plug and play. Install it and your new settings work right away.

Your stock calibration stays on file with us, so you can switch anything back later.

One price, any features

Pick one feature or all of them. The programming fee is the same.

Features

Lighting Features

  • Cargo/Bed Lamps While Driving (pickups only)
On K2 pickups the BCM turns the cargo lamp off as soon as the shifter leaves Park, which is no help when you’re hooking up a trailer or working at night. After programming, the cargo and bed lamps stay on, and can be switched on, in Drive and Reverse.
  • Fog Lights with High Beams
GM turns your fogs off when the high beams come on. With this change they stay lit together, for more light along the edges of the road.
  • Fog Lights with Auto High Beams (IntelliBeam) (requires factory IntelliBeam)
On trucks and SUVs with IntelliBeam, the fogs stay on while it switches the high beams on and off for you.
  • Hyperflash Delete (for LED Bulbs)
LED turn bulbs draw less current than factory bulbs, so the BCM decides a bulb is out and flashes fast. This turns off that fast flash and the bulb-out warning. A burned-out turn bulb won’t be flagged after that, so check your signals now and then.
  • Market Lighting Conversion (imported vehicles)
Bought a K2 built for Canada? Convert to US Market sets the lighting, including how the daytime running lights behave, to US factory settings. Convert to Canadian Market goes the other way for a vehicle headed north.

Convenience Features

  • Roll Up Windows from Key Fob (express-up windows only)
Hold the Lock button on your fob and any front window with express-up closes by itself. Many K2s only have express-up on the driver’s door, so on those just the driver’s window closes. Rear windows aren’t affected.
  • Remote Start Runs for 20 Minutes per Cycle (requires factory remote start)
Factory remote start shuts the engine off after 15 minutes. Programmed, each start runs 20, which helps on cold mornings and hot afternoons.
  • Cooled Seats with Remote Start (requires factory ventilated seats)
Your settings menu gains a cooled seat choice for remote start.
  • Disable Auto Idle Shutdown (push-button start vehicles)
Push-button start K2s turn the engine off on their own after a long idle in Park. With this off, the engine keeps running until you shut it down.
  • Raise the Speed Limiter
Pick 112 or 120 mph. Only the BCM’s limit changes, and the engine computer can still cap top speed. Make sure your tires are speed rated for what you pick.

More Settings

  • Light and Window Timers
Choose how long things keep working after shutdown. Extended: cargo and bed lamps 60 minutes, headlights and interior lights 20 minutes, power windows 20 minutes. Maximum: 120, 30 and 40 minutes. The longer the timer, the more a light left on can drain the battery.
  • Tap-to-Pass Flashes
A quick tap of the turn signal stalk gives 3 flashes from the factory. Set it to 4 or 5 for highway lane changes. Tow/Haul mode keeps its own count.

Activate GM Retrofit Parts

Moving up from a work truck or base trim? Parts from higher trims usually stay dark until the BCM knows they’re there, and these turn them on. You supply and install the parts, wired correctly, before your BCM comes to us.

  • Fog Lights
For fogs added to a K2 that came without them. Some trucks and SUVs also need the instrument cluster set to show the fog light indicator. That’s a separate cluster job, so ask us if yours needs it.
  • Heated Front Seats
For heated front seats installed in a K2 that came without them. If the seats came out of a different model year, tell us which year when you order, because seat electronics vary by year.
  • Ventilated Front Seats
For ventilated (cooled) front seats added from a higher trim. If they came from a different model year, tell us which year when you order.

Need something that isn’t listed?

The features above are the ones K2 owners ask for most, not the limit of what the BCM can do. It holds a long list of lighting, lock, window, chime and timer settings, and most of them can be changed. Anything beyond this list is a custom job, quoted on its own. Contact us with your VIN and the change you want, and we’ll tell you whether it can be done and what it costs before you order. Changes that live in the engine computer or another module are outside BCM programming.

Fitment

Fits: 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, the 2019 Silverado LD and Sierra Limited, 2015-2019 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, 2019-2025 Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD, and 2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. These are GM’s K2 trucks and SUVs, gas and diesel.

Medium duty: equipment varies a lot on 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD trucks, so we confirm which features apply to yours from your VIN before we build anything.

Does not fit: the redesigned 2019 and later Silverado and Sierra 1500, 2020 and later 2500HD and 3500HD, or 2021 and later Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade. For the 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500 and 2020-2023 HD, see our 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra BCM programming. For 2014 HD trucks and 2014 SUVs, see our 2007-2014 truck and SUV BCM programming.

Not sure which you have? Enter your VIN when you order. It’s checked against our coverage before you can add this to your cart.

Frequently asked questions

Is the price per feature?

No. The programming fee is the same whether you choose one feature or every one. Return shipping for your BCM is the only other charge, and checkout figures it from your address.

Do I need a tuner or programming tool?

No. Your BCM comes to our shop, gets programmed here and goes back to you ready to install. There’s nothing to buy, register or plug into the OBD port.

Why can’t you just send me a BCM that’s already programmed?

A BCM is tied to the vehicle it came out of. It stores that vehicle’s key and security data and part of its mileage record. A different module wouldn’t have any of that and wouldn’t work right, so we program yours and send it back.

Where do I find my VIN?

Look through the windshield at the driver’s side of the dashboard, or check your registration or insurance card. The page needs all 17 characters before it will add this to your cart.

Which vehicles does this fit?

2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, the 2019 Silverado LD and Sierra Limited, 2015-2019 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, 2019-2025 Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD, and 2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. These are GM’s K2 trucks and SUVs. We check every VIN before we program anything.

Is my 2019 Silverado or Sierra covered here?

If it’s a 2019 Silverado LD or Sierra Limited, or a 2019 2500HD or 3500HD, yes. Those carry over the previous body and use this programming. The redesigned 2019 Silverado and Sierra 1500 is covered by our 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra BCM programming instead. Enter your VIN and it will tell you which one you need.

What does the BCM control on a 2014-2018 Silverado?

The body control module runs most of the truck’s body electronics: exterior and interior lighting, turn signals, door locks and key fob functions, power windows, remote start, the alarm and many warning chimes. That’s why lighting, remote start and key fob behavior can be changed by programming the BCM.

Does it work on Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade?

Yes. 2015-2020 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade and Escalade ESV are covered. Features that depend on a pickup bed, such as Cargo/Bed Lamps While Driving, only apply to pickups.

Do you program medium duty Silverado trucks?

Yes. 2019-2025 Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD trucks are covered. Equipment varies a lot on these trucks, so we confirm which features apply to yours from your VIN before we build anything.

My seats came out of a different model year. Will heated or cooled seat activation work?

We need to know the year before you order. Heated and cooled seat hardware changed between model years, so seats swapped from another year may need different programming than the ones your vehicle was built with. The order form asks which year your seats came from. Tell us there, or contact us before ordering if you’re not sure.

I have two trucks. Can I put both on one order?

One VIN per order. For a second truck or SUV, place a second order.

Will programming turn on a warning light?

The lighting, convenience and settings changes don’t set codes. Retrofit activations switch on GM’s monitoring for the added parts, so those parts need to be installed and wired correctly. Done properly, the vehicle acts like it came that way. If the parts are missing, it will log codes.

Can I undo a change later?

Yes. We keep the factory calibration from your BCM, so any feature can be set back to stock.

I bought a K2 that was built for Canada. Can it get US lighting?

Yes. Pick Market Lighting Conversion and choose Convert to US Market, and the lighting, including daytime running light behavior, is set to US factory settings. Convert to Canadian Market does the opposite for a vehicle headed to Canada.

Can you change a BCM setting that isn’t on this list?

Often, yes. This list covers the most common K2 requests, and the BCM has many more settings. Contact us with your VIN and what you want changed, and we’ll quote it as a custom job before you order.

Can you add more than 20 minutes of remote start, or manual high idle?

Not with this service. Both need engine computer changes, and this programs the BCM only.

Will 120 mph be my top speed?

Not necessarily. The BCM limit goes up to what you choose, but the engine computer can still limit speed on its own. Your tires need a speed rating at least that high.

  1. Gerald Flashing (verified owner) –

It kind of reminds me of how people used to jailbreak their phones back in the day, but for your truck! Easy to install and use! Worth every penny, i highly recommend it! And on top of that, customer service from both WAMS is some of the best I’ve dealt with!
