Description

Custom BCM programming for 2015-2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks, from WT to ZR2, AT4 and Denali. The body control module (BCM) decides how your truck’s lights, windows, remote start and key fob behave. We reprogram yours with the features you pick: cargo lamp on while driving, fog lights with high beams, 20-minute remote start and more. You send the BCM in, we build the new calibration from your truck’s own factory file, and it comes back ready to plug in. One flat price, and no tools to buy.

How it works

  1. Type in your 17-digit VIN. It’s checked against 2015-2022 Colorado and Canyon coverage, and the features your truck can use appear.
  2. Select what you want and check out. Return shipping is added at checkout based on your address.
  3. Remove the BCM and ship it to us. Packing steps and our address come with your order confirmation.
  4. We pull the factory calibration, change only your selections, and program the module.
  5. Your BCM comes back plug and play. Reinstall it and the new settings are live.

We hold on to your original calibration in case you ever want to go back to stock.

Features

Lighting Features

  • Cargo/Bed Lamps While Driving
The cab-mounted cargo lamp normally goes dark the moment you shift out of Park. After programming it stays on, and the cargo switch works, in Drive and Reverse, handy for lining up a trailer or checking the bed at night.
  • Fog Lights with High Beams
Clicking on the high beams no longer kills the fogs. Both run together for wider light on back roads.
  • Hyperflash Delete (for LED Bulbs)
Swapping to LED turn bulbs makes the BCM think a bulb has failed, so the signals blink double time. This stops the rapid blink and the bulb-out message. The truck also stops warning you about a dead turn bulb, so check them now and then.
  • Market Lighting Conversion (imported trucks)
For a Colorado or Canyon built for another country. Convert to US Market changes Canadian-spec lighting, daytime running lights included, to US factory behavior. Convert to Canadian Market does the opposite.

Convenience Features

  • Roll Up Windows from Key Fob (driver’s express-up window)
Press and hold Lock on the fob and the driver’s window closes by itself. Colorado and Canyon trucks have express-up on the driver’s window only, so the other windows stay where they are.
  • Remote Start Runs for 20 Minutes per Cycle (requires factory remote start)
Factory remote start gives up after 15 minutes. Programmed, each start runs a full 20.
  • Cooled Seats with Remote Start (Canyon Denali or ventilated seats)
Adds a cooled seat choice to the remote start options in the truck’s settings menu.
  • Raise the Speed Limiter
Set the BCM limit to 112 or 120 mph. The engine computer can still impose its own limit, and your tires must carry a speed rating that covers your choice.

More Settings

  • Light and Window Timers
Controls how long things keep running after you turn the truck off. Extended: cargo lamp 60 minutes, headlights and interior lights 20 minutes, power windows 20 minutes. Maximum: 120, 30 and 40 minutes. Longer settings let a forgotten light pull the battery down further.
  • Tap-to-Pass Flashes
Tap the turn signal stalk and you get 3 blinks from the factory. Bump it to 4 or 5 for lane changes at highway speed.

Activate GM Retrofit Parts

Upgrading a WT or LT with parts from a higher trim? The BCM has to be told those parts exist before they’ll work. We switch them on. The parts themselves must already be in the truck and wired before your BCM ships to us.

  • Fog Lights
For fog lights added to a Colorado or Canyon that came without them. Some trucks also need the instrument cluster set to show the fog light indicator, which is a separate cluster service. Ask us if yours does.
  • Heated Front Seats
For heated front seats fitted to a truck that didn’t have them. If the seats came from a different model year, give us that year when you order.
  • Ventilated Front Seats
For ventilated front seats, such as Canyon Denali seats, fitted to a lower trim. If they came from a different model year, give us that year when you order.

Looking for something else?

This list covers what Colorado and Canyon owners ask for most. The BCM has plenty of other lighting, lock, window, chime and timer settings, and many of them can be changed. Requests outside this list are handled as custom jobs and priced separately. Reach out with your VIN and what you’d like changed, and we’ll confirm it can be done and the cost before you order. Anything controlled by the engine computer or another module isn’t part of BCM programming.

Fitment

Fits: 2015-2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, extended cab and crew cab, gas and 2.8 Duramax diesel, every trim including ZR2, ZR2 Bison, Trail Boss, AT4, All Terrain and Denali.

Does not fit: 2023 and newer Colorado and Canyon, or 2004-2012 Colorado and Canyon. Have a full-size truck? See our 2014-2019 Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe and Yukon BCM programming or our 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra BCM programming.

Your VIN is checked against this coverage before the item can go in your cart.

Frequently asked questions

How is this priced?

One programming fee, no matter how many features you pick. The only add-on is return shipping for your BCM, which checkout calculates from your address.

Do I have to buy or rent a programmer?

No. You send us the BCM, we program it in our shop and mail it back ready to install. Nothing plugs into your truck and there’s no app or account to set up.

Can I skip the shipping and buy a BCM that’s already programmed?

That won’t work on these trucks. Your Colorado or Canyon’s BCM carries its own key and security data and part of its mileage record, so a substitute module wouldn’t run properly. Programming the one already in your truck is the reliable way.

Where’s the VIN on a Colorado or Canyon?

On a plate at the base of the windshield on the driver’s side, and on your registration and insurance card. Enter all 17 characters on this page before adding it to the cart.

Which Colorado and Canyon years are covered?

2015 through 2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, every cab and bed length. The 2023 and newer trucks use a different electrical architecture and aren’t covered.

Does it work on the ZR2, AT4 and Denali?

Yes. Every 2015-2022 trim is covered, including ZR2, ZR2 Bison, Trail Boss, Z71, AT4, All Terrain and Denali. Features that depend on factory equipment, like cooled seats with remote start on the Canyon Denali, only apply when that equipment is there.

Does it work on the 2.8 Duramax diesel?

Yes. Gas and 2.8 Duramax diesel trucks use the same body control module programming.

Why does the key fob only roll up the driver’s window?

On 2015-2022 Colorado and Canyon trucks, express-up was fitted to the driver’s window only. Fob roll-up works on express-up windows, so that’s the window that closes.

I swapped in seats from a different year. Does that matter?

Yes, tell us the year before you order. Heated and ventilated seat hardware changed over the years, and seats from another model year can need different programming. The order form asks where your seats came from, or contact us first if you’re unsure.

Can you add IntelliBeam or turn off auto idle shutdown?

Not on these trucks. 2015-2022 Colorado and Canyon models weren’t built with IntelliBeam automatic high beams or push-button start, which those features depend on.

Can you go past 20 minutes of remote start or add manual high idle?

No. Both require engine computer changes, and this service changes the BCM only.

Will any warning lights come on?

Not from the lighting, convenience or settings changes. Retrofit activations enable GM’s checks for the added parts, so a correctly installed and wired part works like factory equipment, while a missing or miswired one will log codes.

Can I go back to the factory settings?

Yes. We save the original calibration from your BCM, so any change can be reversed later.

My Colorado came from Canada. Can it get US lighting?

Yes. Pick Market Lighting Conversion and choose Convert to US Market to move the lighting, daytime running lights included, to US factory behavior. Going the other way, Convert to Canadian Market sets a US truck up for Canada.

What does raising the speed limiter actually change?

Only the limit stored in the BCM, set to 112 or 120 mph. The engine computer may still hold the truck to its own limit, and your tires must be rated for the speed you pick.

Is there anything else you can change?

Often. These are the requests Colorado and Canyon owners make most, but the BCM holds many more settings. Contact us with your VIN and the change you have in mind, and we’ll quote it as a custom job before you order.

I have a Silverado or Sierra. Which page do I need?

For 2014-2019 Silverado and Sierra trucks, use our 2014-2019 Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe and Yukon BCM programming. For 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500 and 2020-2023 HD trucks, use our 2019-2022 Silverado and Sierra BCM programming.
